Adult-film star Stormy Daniels on Monday blasted Michael Cohen, President Trump's personal attorney, after Cohen made a court appearance related to an FBI raid of his office, hotel room and home last week.
"For years, Mr. Cohen has acted like he is above the law. He has considered himself and openly referred to himself as Mr. Trump's 'fixer.' He's played by a different set of rules - or should we say no rules at all," Daniels said in a brief statement.
"He has never thought that the little man, or especially women - and even more, women like me - mattered," she continued. "That ends now. My attorney and I are committed to making sure everyone finds out the truth and the facts of what happened."
Federal agents raided Cohen's office, home and hotel room last week and reportedly seized financial documents, communications between Cohen and Trump and materials related to payments Cohen made to two women, including Daniels, who alleged they had an affair with Trump more than a decade ago.
Cohen appeared in court on Monday, where his lawyers argued that his legal team or a court-appointed attorney should be able to review the seized material before federal investigators, in order to determine whether the documents are protected under attorney-client privilege.
Daniels attended Monday's hearing.
Cohen has admitted that he paid Daniels $130,000 days before the 2016 election. Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, claims it was part of a nondisclosure agreement about her alleged affair with Trump.
She has since filed a defamation lawsuit against Cohen, and is arguing the nondisclosure agreement is void because Trump did not sign it.
